Last Day of Pre-3 for little man!

Seems like just yesterday that Jacob went into the Self Contained class at Houston. That date was actually September 26, 2007! Today is his last day of school till August...where he will enter the same class with Ms. Gant. He's accomplished so much this year! He can TALK! That in itself is a huge step for him! He can count, reconize numbers from 1-10 and knows some colors. Green, blue and pink :) He's reconizing and can name Trees, flowers, water, grass, sky...and some animals. Especially "baby Jaguar" off of Diego ;) He doesnt know ANY letters, but can help sing the ABC song. If you show him a "J" it's a 2, a "L" is a 7....

He's going to have a great summer at Sunshine House...they hired a new teacher, and his favorite teacher has been moved up. They give him what the other kids get during lunch, so maybe we can get a little eating action in too :) I'm sure he'll come home filthy dirty each day, and want to go swimming :)

Max and Ruby

Jacob is a HUGE Max and Ruby fan lately. It's a big Bunny Sister, and her Little Bunny brother Max. He sings the song so well now :)

The family is still up in NJ...i'm home with the Kids. It's quiet here, but we're making due. Our Prayers are with everyone up in NJ, including Trish's brother Scott who flew in yesterday from California.

The Passing of a Great Lady

It is with great sorrow that I am announcing the passing of Alyce Anthony, Trish's grandmother. Born July 15, 1929 and died today May 19, 2008. She was a great woman who loved her family and was in return loved very much. She always had a smile and a great sense of humor. It the past few months she suffered great pain from her COPD and failing health. She is now with God and her husband Walt who past away in 1993 & her Grandson Jeff who passed in 1987. Walt & Alyce will be burried together in the Veterans Cemetary. She leaves behind three daughters Judy, Peggy, and Nancy, a son Walt (Bud), eight grandchildren (John Sr, Jason, Scott, Tricia, Kevin, Alex, Allison & Timmy) and seven great-grandchildren (Ashley, Justin, Dom, Caitlynn AJ, Bryan & Jacob). Rest In Peace Grandmom we love you very much.

Busy Week...

Wow! A year ago Caitlynn was doing Field Day at a school she had just started in and knew next to nobody. Today she did Field Day with Tons of Friends and had a great time!!

Last Year....

Today after School...WOW what a difference 1 year makes!
She did great in 4th grade. She made the Boyd Top Dog list each marking period (havent got grades for 6th MP yet) and made alot of friends. For Caitlynn that's a huge deal, she always likes people, and people like her, but to have friends live nearby is awesome! She also joined girl scouts...anyone want some cookies? Tell me now and i'll call you next year! 5th grade she'll be playing Violin ... wish us luck!

Jacob is our sick little man this week. He started a FUO on Monday...low grade temp, but acting fine. So we just watched him. By Tuesday night he wasn't tollerating feeds, and was retching horribly. So we took him in. Ears and throat was fine...but his g-tube site looked bad (and still looks aweful) so she started him on Bactrim and Bactroban with Physohex bath's 1x each day for 2 weeks...then 2x each week therafter. They did a culture...and Praying it's not MRSA.

School is going great for him. It's amazing what strides he's made this year, he wasnt talking last year...now is mimicking everything, and is even trying to initiate some words, directions. "Paci Please" And "Water" are his 2 current fav's. He's staying in the self contained class next year, he'll love having another year with Ms. Gant before trying (maybe?) out the K-4 class at Boyd.

Some prayers are needed too.

  • My Grandmom Anthony...she's in end stage COPD and not doing well. Pray for her peace of mind, her comfort and everyone around her.
  • My Grandmom Davies, she's undergoing Chemo right now...
  • My Father...he's recovering from a heart attack and congested heart failure.
  • My step-Pops (Paul's Dad) he's in ICU for Congested heart failure...recovering nicely so far.
  • My cousin Tammy and Family while they pack and move from VA to AZ.
  • And well...for anyone who needs it... Huge Hugs and prayers to all you blog stalkers :)
